Erling Haaland scored his 22nd Premier League goal of the season to earn Manchester City a narrow 1-0 win at Brentford Community Stadium this afternoon.

Haaland grabbed a 58th-minute winner after substitute Vitaly Janelt thought he had completed a second-half Brentford fightback when his equaliser was ruled out by VAR for offside.

The visitors took a significant step towards a seventh Premier League title as they increased their lead over Arsenal to six points, although the Gunners have a game in hand on their rivals.

For Brentford, defeat ended a seven-game unbeaten run at home in the Premier League but they remain in seventh place in the table and four points off a Champions League place.
